FAQ'S

Q: My child would like to play city league, not competitive, which league do l register for?

A: Register your child according to their age group. An evaluation session will occur in September which is when we will make up the city league teams.

Q: My child is interested in the competitive league. How do I register for this?

A: Register your child according to their age group. For children interested in competitive, there will be a separate sign up for try-outs in September.

Q:Does my child need to try out for a competitive team?

A: Fusion believes in finding a place for every member to play basketball. You do not need to try out for competitive teams, once these teams are selected further details on city leagues will be available.

Q: My child was born in 2012, should I register them for U13 or U14?

A: We expect most athletes will register to try out for U13 if they are born in 2012. However, they may choose to try out for U14 instead. Parents can choose which league they register their child for. Tryouts will schedule U14 before U13, so if those players born In 2012 do not make U14, they can try out for U13 instead. Once teams are selected we will have a combined U13/14 city league.

Q: How do I know which fee to pay if my child doesn't know yet if they make a competitive team?

A: The fee for all kids in the U11, U13, or U14 leagues is $295. If your child makes competitive, as a result of the September try-outs, you will be charged an additional $150 at that time. This fee covers competitive team costs such as extra gym time, BNB provincials, uniforms, etc.

Q: If my child registers and there are not enough players for a team, will I get my money back?

A: Yes. you will be refunded if there are not enough players for league.

Q: When will practices be held?

A: Schedules will be released after evaluations are complete and teams are finalized

Q: What is the difference between city league and competitive teams?

A: The competitive teams typically play at a higher skill level. Their season involves tournaments and a travelling schedule (home/ away games). It requires a greater time commitment due to more practice times, training sessions and games, City league teams are not travelling teams however, they do have a weekly practice and home games in Fredericton against the other city league teams.
